I’m tired of seeing the Democratic senators asking, during their confirmation hearings, Trump’s sycophantic nominees for cabinet positions or federal judgeships or other important positions of power, that “who won the 2020 presidential election,” only to hear the rehearsed response that Biden was certified as the president in January 2021, or more recently, even outright dodging of the question, saying that they don’t want to engage in that theater. Someone should tell them: “No brother; the theater is actually the one that you are engaging in right now!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But if the senators want to better highlight the pickle these guys are in, they should start by asking them who won the presidential election of 2016, and who won the presidential election of 2024, with some follow ups, of course. I doubt they will have the courage to evade acknowledging the fact that Trump indeed won those elections. Otherwise they will certainly be at the receiving end of their master’s wrath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only after settling the above, the senators should move on to asking about the 2020 presidential election. Then, the nominees’ nonsensical response will be a clearer testament of to whom or what their allegiance is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
