How much is a person’s dignity worth? or their pride and self-respect? in absolute terms, or relative to one’s current worth.

What does it take for a well-educated, incredibly intelligent person to set aside all that intelligence and play dumb, pretending that they don’t understand or appreciate the absurdity of pretty much anything the former president says? and to go along with that?

My best-case-scenario guess is that you will answer the above questions as “no amount of money, but absolute power.” And that your plan is to be the man behind the man, the puppet master for the most powerful puppet of all, and to have the power to rule the entire world, unquestioned, with no oversight.

And I admit, that is pretty tempting. Although power with responsibility does not have the same appeal for everyone, but absolute power is something different. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if many, if not most, of your admirers find this answer reasonable and convincing. But then my next question is: what is the plan for after that?

Are you planning on helping the former president materialize his dream of presidency for life? or even “canceling the constitution” as he deemed acceptable for advancing his agenda? And do you plan to appear from behind the scenes and become the dictator-in-chief yourself, when he passes away?

Again, my best-case-scenario guess is that your answers to the above questions are “no.” If that is indeed the case, then really, what is the plan for afterwards? If the above dreams of the orange clown do not materialize, then the country will eventually recover. Maybe even the likes of Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, or even Lauren Boebert will find their ways to the top of the executive branch for short whiles, but the country will eventually recover. And sanity will return. And the question is: what are your plans for that time?

I hope you are not banking too much on the lifespan of the current wave of insanity.
