Three things that keep me hopeful about the future of the country, and humanity in general:
- The 15-foot gold-leafed statue of the president erected on the sacred grounds of Mar-a-Lago, in the honor of a president who miraculously survived three assassination attempts, and had to fight the evil throughout his entire life. The statue and its site will likely serve as a moral compass and a pilgrimage destination for generations to come. Who knows, maybe even the ancient rituals of offering gifts and sacrifices to the Gods represented by such statutes will finally be revived and revered.
- The fully donor-funded $150 million, no, $200 million, no, $300 million, no, $400 million dollar gilded ballroom on the White House grounds, now proposed by the always loyal Congress to be secured using a mere $1 billion of well-spent tax-payer funds. This was something that the entire nation has been wanting for decades if not centuries, and has proven to be essential, if not the only appropriate measure, for preventing gun violence across the nation, as evident by the recent assassination attempt on the president.
- The $10 billion lawsuit filed by the president against his own IRS for the emotional and reputational damage he received after a number of his tax returns were leaked to the media. Although the leaker was already convicted and served a five-year prison sentence, the lawsuit symbolizes the president’s never-ending fight against corruption and to protect victims of any form of injustice. It highlights how corrupt the tradition of transparency in public release of 10 years worth of tax returns by presidential candidates over the recent several decades has been, and brings hope to all those who strive to dedicate their lives to selfless philanthropy without having to put it into display for everyone to watch. The settlement that the president will likely reach with himself in this case through his justice department will be the ultimate display of justice and transparency, a testament to the fact that if absolute power is given to the right person, justice will prevail and corruption will erode.
Long live the King!
